DISNEY JUNIOR’S DARE TO DREAM CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS (“Official Rules”)

HOW TO ENTER

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

To enter the contest, go to www.disneyjunior.ca and click on the "DARE TO DREAM" icon displayed in the WIN section of the website to access the contest microsite.  Once you have opened the contest microsite, click on the ENTER button to access the standard contest entry form. Fill out the entry form by entering your full name, mailing address including postal code, phone number, e-mail address, age range of yourself or your child who will participate in the Cameo Role (defined below), and the age range of one guest who may participate in the Cameo Role (defined below), if any guest is selected for this purpose, and then submit such form.   A completed on-line entry form will constitute one (1) entry into the contest.  The contest runs from 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) January 30, 2012 to 10:00 a.m. ET February 29, 2012 (the “Contest Period’).

BONUS ENTRIES: Each contest entrant is entitled to an additional one (1) bonus entry per day during the Contest Period. Each contest entrant may obtain one (1) bonus entry per day by logging into their Facebook account, and “Liking” Disney Junior Canada at www.facebook.com/DisneyJuniorCanada.  Once you have “Liked” Disney Junior Canada, you will be able to see the bonus code posted on the Disney Junior Canada Facebook page. Then go to www.disneyjunior.ca, and fill out the contest entry form as described above, in addition to including the bonus code with your entry.

An entrant under the age of majority in his/her province of residence must have a parent or legal guardian consent to his/her participation. Proof of identification and parental consent must be provided upon request.  If a parent or legal guardian does not provide consent, or if satisfactory proof of identification to confirm the winner’s (or the winner’s parent, or legal guardian’s) identity and personal information provided in connection with the contest, including but not limited to, the winner’s (or the winner’s parent, or legal guardian’s) name, mailing address, and email address, cannot be obtained, the entry will be disqualified. The contact information collected by The Family Channel Inc. dba Disney Junior (“Sponsor”) with your entry will only be used to award the contest prize (“Prize”).  Sponsor will not use this personal information for any other reason and will not otherwise disclose this personal information to any other party.

If you do not have access to the Internet but would like to participate, you can enter the contest by sending the Sponsor your full name, telephone number, province of residence, and age by mail. The entry will be entered on the day it is received, provided it is within the contest deadline. Send entries to:

ELIGIBILITY

The contest is open to permanent lawful residents of Canada only, who meet all of the Entry Requirements (defined below) and all other requirements and conditions discussed herein.  In addition to any entry or eligibility requirements discussed above, the entrant or entrant’s child who would participate in the Cameo Role (defined below), and the one guest selected by such entrant to participate in the Cameo Role (defined below), if any guest is selected, must each meet the following entry requirements:

    • Be able to lift 5-lbs.
    • Be between 3-12 years old.
    • Be able to walk & stand up.
    • Be able to take direction.
    • Be able to walk up two large steps unaided and on their own. 
    • Must wear closed-toed shoes.

Employees, representatives, and agents (and their immediate family members or persons with whom they are domiciled) of Sponsor and Feld Entertainment, Inc., their affiliates and their respective advertising and promotional agencies involved in this contest are prohibited from participating in this contest.  

This contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws and regulations.  Void where prohibited by law.  Sponsor with the consent of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the "RACJ") reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, or administrative or other error of any kind.

Entries must be received by post or online entry no later than 10:00 AM ET on February 29, 2012. Sponsor takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, misdirected, delayed, or received after the contest deadline. Limit one (1) entry per person, per day, in addition to a limit of four (4) entries from the same household per day. Only one e-mail address and account may be used by any person to enter the contest.  In the event that Sponsor receives more than one (1) entry per person, per day, or more than four (4) entries from the same household, per day, Sponsor reserves the right to void and destroy any entries from that entrant and/or household, and that entrant/household may, at the discretion of the Sponsor be disqualified from the contest.  Should it be discovered that an entrant is using the aid of computer programs to auto-fill entries, that entrant will be immediately disqualified from the contest.  Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify all such contestant from future contests conducted by the Sponsor without further notice.  By submitting an entry, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the selected entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address at the time of entry.  The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the e-mail address in question.

 

PRIZE

A random draw will be held at or around 12:00 PM ET on March 1, 2012 at FAMILY’s Toronto office located at 181 Bay Street. There will be one (1) grand prize draw to fulfill this contest. The chances of being selected to win a prize in this contest depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

GRAND PRIZE (the “Grand Prize”)
There is a total number of one (1) Grand Prize package available to be won (approximate retail value: $6,000)

  • Four (4) Rinkside seats for the March 17th, 2012 Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream show in Toronto starting at 3pm
  • A short walk-on cameo role (details included in the section below entitled “Description of Cameo Role”) in the live Disney On Ice presents Dare to Dream show starting at 3pm on March 17th, 2012 (the “Cameo Role”). The walk-on cameo role is open to up to two (2) children who meet the Entry Requirements and all other applicable entry and eligibility requirements herein.
  • Round-trip flights from the major airport closest to the winner’s residence, to Toronto departing March 16th, 2012 and returning March 18th, 2012 for up to four (4) people
  • A two-night stay in a Toronto hotel in one hotel room (based on quad occupancy)
  • A prize pack of Dare to Dream merchandise
  • Food for up to four (4) people at the March 17th show

 

All amounts are in Canadian dollars. 

The winner and his/her guests will be responsible for obtaining any required travel and health documents (which must be valid prior to and for the entire duration of the trip), transportation to and from the departure airport or other departure location (ground transportation), gratuities, travel insurance incidentals and all other expenses not specifically mentioned above.

All costs and expenses not specifically included above as part of the Grand Prize including, without limitation, cancellation fees, taxes, departure taxes, other travel related taxes and fees, duties and levies, meals, telephone charges, other room charges, incidental expenses, medical expenses and other items of a personal nature, additional optional excursions, gratuities and insurance, are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest(s).   Lost or stolen tickets and travel vouchers will not be replaced.  It is strongly recommended that the declared winner and his/her traveling guest(s) purchase medical, accident and baggage insurance. The Sponsor is not responsible in this respect. It is the responsibility of the declared winner and his/her travelling companion to check with the airline for baggage restrictions.

All travel is booked on behalf of the Grand Prize winner by the contest Sponsor, is based on availability and some blackout periods may apply.  The Grand Prize winner and his/her three (3) guests must travel together from the same departure airport.  Grand Prize fulfillment will take place between Friday, March 16, 2012 – Sunday, March 18, 2012.  If the winner has not reached the age of majority in his/her province of residence by the date of departure, one of the winner’s guest must be his/her parent or legal guardian, who has agreed to be fully and legally responsible for the winner and his/her guests for the duration of the trip.

Description of Cameo Role
The lantern launch provides a unique opportunity for guests to become part of the show.  This experience incorporates a lantern release segment on the downstage platform where the winner’s child and guest will interact with Rapunzel and Flynn. While in the spotlight, a glowing lantern is placed in the winner’s hands. The winner helps Rapunzel and Flynn release the lantern and watches as it floats in the air to fill the “night sky” with hundreds of other lanterns. After the launch, the winner’s child and guest receives a hug from Rapunzel and Flynn before being escorted off the downstage pod.

 

ACCEPTANCE OF PRIZE

The selected entrant must correctly complete a mathematical skill testing question, must meet the Entry Requirements, must meet all other entry and eligibility requirements discussed herein, and must sign a declaration confirming compliance with the Official Rules and acceptance of the Grand Prize as awarded, and a release form acknowledging the non-responsibility of the Sponsor, Feld Entertainment, Inc., both their affiliates and/or associates and their respective agents, employees and officers and directors with regard to any injury, accident, damage, claim, liability, loss or misfortune related to any aspects of the contest, prize, the acceptance, use, misuse, possession and delivery of the Grand Prize, printing errors, claims based upon publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, prior to being awarded the Prize. If a selected entrant has not reached the age of majority in his/her province of residence by the date of departure, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign a declaration and release form on his/her behalf in order  to claim his/her  Grand Prize.

The selected entrant will be notified by telephone or e-mail within two (2) days of the draw.  The selected entrant will then have three (3) days following receipt thereof to contact Sponsor to claim their  Grand Prize. Should Sponsor not receive confirmation within three (3) days, should the entrant not meet the Entry Requirements, any other requirement discussed herein, or should the selected entrant be unable to correctly answer the skill-testing question or complete the declaration and release by the date specified, selected entrant will be deemed to have forfeited any rights to the Grand Prize and a back-up entrant will be selected in the same manner by random draw taken from the same pool of entries, in which event, the foregoing provisions of this sentence shall also apply to such other eligible entry.  All prize taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winner). Limit one (1) prize per person or household.

The Sponsor will not be held responsible for the loss of prizes due to changes in mailing addresses, errors in completed entry forms or any other circumstances leading to an invalid, erroneous or incomplete mailing address or e-mail address.

Sponsor or its appointed designee shall deliver prizes to winners.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be exactly as shown.  Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute any portion of the Grand Prize with a prize of equivalent or greater retail value.  Some restrictions may apply.  The Sponsor, Feld Entertainment, Inc., and both their affiliates and/or associates and their respective agents, employees and officers and directors , as well as any third parties affiliated with or in privity with the Sponsor or Feld Entertainment, Inc. shall not be liable for any claim related to the aforementioned substitution.  The Grand Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-negotiable, and has no cash value (i.e. there is no cash alternative available).  

All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

Each entrant agrees to waive all rights with respect to print and broadcast publicity. By entering the contest and accepting any prize, the winner or parent or legal guardian of the winner hereby consents to the reasonable use by Sponsor of the winner's photograph, voice, likeness and/or image, contents of the entry form and the name and age of the winner without any further compensation for any future promotional activity.  Each entrant consents and agrees to the Sponsor’s collection and use of the information provided by the entrant for the purpose of administering this contest.  Each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.

The Sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of registration or entry information which may affect an entrant’s inability to get through on the internet during the promotion or ability to participate in the contest, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed/corrupted data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, any inability to access the site, or damage to a user's system occasioned by participating in the contest, and entries which fail to fully comply with these Official Rules. 

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and with the consent of the RACJ, to cancel, modify or suspend a contest for any reason, including without limitation in the event of any printing, administrative error, virus, bug, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond its control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.  Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way. Appropriate notice to the RACJ will be provided where necessary. The Sponsor is not responsible for preemption, cancellation, or interruption, in whole or in part, of any contest related programming.

For residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the RACJ for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the RACJ only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
